The detained Awami League president Sheikh Hasina was re-admitted to Square Hospitals on Saturday morning after a break of 20 days as doctors found fluctuation in her blood pressure.
Hasina, also a former prime minister, was taken to the hospital from the special jail for a routine check-up. But doctors found her blood pressure fluctuating while examining her eyes and ears and suggested that she should get admitted again, said physicians.
Hospital general manager John Gomes said Hasina, as an outdoor patient, was brought to the hospital at about 8:30am for eye check-up.
‘But her pressure was and she has been admitted’, he told New Age, adding that Hasina needed further check-up.
He said that the jail authorities would be informed.
Deputy inspector general of prisons Major Shamsul Haider Siddiqui told reporters at the hospital that Hasina was under doctors’ observation and that she would be taken back to jail when doctors discharge her.’
Doctors said that Hasina would be discharged after her blood pressure is found normal.
