US Assistant Secretary of state Richard Boucher while talking to foreign journalists on Wednesday said that he is hopeful about the election in Bangladesh.
Mr Boucher said that they have just sent a new ambassador out to Bangladesh. He recalled that Bangladesh has faced some awful problems in the last year, in addition to the whole issue of getting back to elections.
But USA has been helpful to Bangladesh and they helped particularly in the aftermath of the devastating cyclone in Bangladesh. The Assistant Secretary of State also mentioned that the US is exploring what to do to let Bangladesh overcome their food crisis.
Boucher pointed out some of the success stories in South Asia which included elections in Pakistan , Nepal and Bhutan and that US-India relationship is in full momentum.
