U.S. Democratic presidential candidates Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are both hoping for big wins today, Tuesday as they battle in two key primaries in Indiana and North Carolina.
Dr. Hugh Heclo is the Clarence J. Robinson Professor of Public Affairs at George Mason University in Virginia. Formerly a professor of government at Harvard University, Hugh Heclo is a recognized expert on American democratic institutions as well as the international development of modern welfare states. He has received national awards for his books including Comparative Public Policy, A Government of Strangers, and Modern Social Politics in Britain and Sweden. Professor Heclo is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, and he has served as a senior fellow at The Brookings Institution.
Dr. Hugh spoke to Voice of America’s Bangla service about Tuesday’s election.
