Tofail Ahmed a former cabinet minister from Bangladesh and a member of the presidium of Bangla desh Awami League says that his party has always favored democracy and election.
He said that it was Awami League who sought dialogue with the government. He, however, regretted that demands of his party which were discussed in pre-dialogue talks were not reflected in Chief Advisors speech. I
n this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla, he enunciates his party's position about the ongoing political dialogue with the interim government. He also talks about the necessity of holding a free and fair election within December, this year.
He reiterates his party's demands to release Sheikh Hasina , the President of the party before they go for a dialogue with the government. Mr Ahmed said that leaders at the grass root level feel that Hasina should be released and she should lead the party to dialogue and election.
