Khaleda Refuses to Go Abroad, Wants Treatments for Sons Abroad

Detained former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has said she would neither accept any conditional release nor go abroad leaving the country and the people in crisis, but demanded that her two sons must be released for treatment abroad.

Khaleda, also the chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, made the statement Monday as she talked with her lawyers in a special court on the Jatiya Sangsad complex after the proceedings in the GATCO graft case.

She held the government responsible for worsening health condition of her two sons, Tarique Rahman and Arafat Rahman, and demanded that the government release and send them abroad immediately for better treatment.

About her medical treatment she reiterated that she would receive treatment at home by local physicians.
