U.S. President George Bush has called on Russia to honor its commitment
to a cease-fire in Georgia and to withdraw its forces from that country.
At the White House on Wednesday, Mr. Bush said
he is concerned about reports that Russia has not halted its military
action in Georgia, as Moscow previously said it had.
He said he expects Russia to withdraw all of its troops that have entered Georgia in recent days.
Mr. Bush also called on Russia to allow a humanitarian mission headed
by the U.S. military.
The U.S. is planning to use aircraft and naval
forces to deliver humanitarian and medical supplies.
The U.S. leader announced that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will
travel to France to meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who is
