Food Prices in Bangladesh will not Go Up During Ramadan : Anissul Huq

Over the last one year food prices have gone up by leaps and bounds. Usually the prices of essential commodities go up during the fasting month of the Muslims , the Ramadan because the unscrupulous traders try to make unholy profit by the raised demands during the holy month of Ramadan.

However, Anissul Huq, the President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries says that government, business enterprises and the Chambers of Commerce are working together to assure that the prices remain stable during Ramadan.

In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service, Anis says the prices of essential commodities are already coming down. He also adds that due to stability in Garments and other industrial sectors, it is assumed that the economic growth next year would be higher.
