Tarique Rahman, the ailing son of BNP
chairperson Khaleda Zia, was not released on Tuesday asthe magistrate
concerned did not sign the necessary documents that would order the prison
authorities to release him.
Prison authorities and Tarique's
lawyers say they have not yet received any documents necessary for releasing
Trique Rahman. His wife Zubaida Rahman has said that even after his release on
bail , he will not leave hospital where he has been getting treatments. Zubaida
met Tarique on Tuesday evening in his hospital cabin.
Rahman -- who despite having no ministerial post
was often referred to as the most powerful man in Bangladesh
during Zia's stint as premier between 2001 and 2006 -- was last week granted
bail on all 13 graft charges he faces.
