Dr. Mohammed Moniruzzaman was a professor of Bangla and head of the Department of Dhaka University.
He was a leading writer and poet and a composer. He also translated American plays and poetry in Bangla language including Emily Dickenson's writings.
Professor Moniruzzaman wrote more than 50 books and more than 1,500 songs.
He died after a prolonged illness on 3rdSeptember.
