Fakhruddin  Leaves New York  after Busy Schedule


The Chief Advisor of the Caretaker government Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed has left New York for Dhaka after attending United Nation General Assembly's session and meeting dignitaries and delegates at the UN . In his speech to the UN he reiterated his government's commitment to holding the General Election on December 18.


Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed said his government had done everything in its power over the course of the past 20 months for strengthening democracy in Bangladesh as it is the goal of the present caretaker government.

The Chief Advisor, who is representing Bangladesh to the UN General Assembly session, in his speech covered the government's different reform measurers, global climate changes, food security and macroeconomic performances of the LDCs.


Dr Ahmed later met the Secretary General of United Nations Ban Ki Moon. He also met the prime ministers of Kuwait and Nepal. He also met the Secretary General of UNFPA. Besides he also participated in meetings on Millennium Development Program.
