Car Bomb in Northern Lebanon Kills Four

A car bombing in northern Lebanon has killed at least four people and wounded 28.

Lebanese security officials say the explosion occurred early on Monday in Tripoli, near a bus loaded with Lebanese soldiers.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

A local cleric (Sunni-Muslim Mufti Malek Sha'ar) says the people responsible for the attack are not from Lebanon and are trying to promote discord inside the country.

The attack is the second bombing aimed at soldiers in the past six weeks.

Last month, 18 civilians and soldiers were killed by a bomb planted at a bus stop where soldiers usually gather. No one took responsibility for that attack.

At least 45 people were wounded in the August blast.
