Police in northeastern India say a bomb has killed at least
14 people in the city of Imphal.
At least 20 others were wounded in the attack outside a police training
center (Tuesday). Officials say
several people are in critical condition at local hospitals.
Authorities say the bomb was concealed in a motorcycle. Police have sealed off
the area and are looking for the bomber.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Imphal is the capital of India's Manipur state, which borders Burma. The area
is a center of separatist activity with more than a dozen active insurgent
On Sunday, a grenade exploded outside the fortified home of Manipur's chief
minister (Okram Ibobi Singh). No one was hurt.
