Chittagong Lacks in Election Fever

Although it seems to be now quite certain that the parliamentary election in Bangladesh is going to be held on December 18, this year, the electioneering mood is missing in Chittagong, the second largest city of Bangladesh. Election schedules have already been announced and very soon the last day of the submission of nomination papers will be over and yet the general mood in Chittagong seems to be a little apathetic.

However, some potential candidates, aspiring to become parliament members, have already begun their public relation activities. But the general people in Chittagong still do not appear to have the expected amount of enthusiasm. Some say that due to emergency rules still in operation people are not feeling the pulse of elections, others say that as one of the major parties has been unsure of participating in the election the desired mood is lacking.

But they expect very soon the country would find itself in election mood.
