The topic of today’s Hello Washington is Upcoming Parliamentary Elections in Bangladesh. The guests were Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed, Farah Kabir and Iftekhar Zaman.
Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed is Professor ofInternational Relations at Dhaka University, Bangladesh. His area of interests include Political Theory, Theories of International Relations, Foreign Policy Analysis, South Asian Politics, Strategic Studies, Aid and Development, Refugee and Migration and Women and Environment.
Farah Kabir has been working in the field of development and research for the last 18 years starting her career with the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS). She has extensive research experience and a host of publications to her credit. At present she is working as Consultant Participative Democracy, UK Governance Team, British Council and Program Manager Governance, British Council Scotland. Prior to her assignment in Scotland she was Assistant Director Governance, British Council Bangladesh.
Dr. Iftekhar Zaman is the Executive Director of Transparency International, Bangladesh. Dr.Zaman was previously Executive Director of the Bangladesh Freedom Foundation. He also served for four years from 1995 as Executive Director of the Regional Centre for Strategic Studies, Colombo, Sri Lanka, and before that worked with the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies for 19 years, as Senior Research Fellow and Research Director.Dr Zaman’s main areas of interest are development, politics, security and cooperation in South Asia in general and Bangladesh in particular, on which he has published extensively in and outside Bangladesh.
