In this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service, Professor Khan analyzed the recent parliamentary election in Bangladesh. He welcomed the people’s verdict, enumerates the reasons behind the victory of Awami League led Grand Alliance and suggests some positive actions for the new government in Bangladesh.
Professor Khan does not support BNP Chairperson’s comments about rejecting the election because he says that it is widely acknowledged that this election was the fairest election held so far in Bangladesh. He, however favors, the formation of a government of national consensus taking BNP along with it. He also thinks that the Islamic Fundamentalist Party Jammat-e-Islami is now a big liability for BNP and they should get rid of this party and stop patronizing it.
