Debates on whether Bangladesh should grant transit facility to neighboring India has gain ground in the country and the opposition BNP is saying that Bangladesh , in the name of transit facility, should not grant India a corridor.
Dr Imtiaz Ahmed , Professor of International Relations in Dhaka University says that transit facilities for India should be attached to other relevant bigger problems that two countries have been facing.
He thinks that diplomatically speaking that is an important card left and Bangladesh should play it carefully to the country’s advantage. Professor Ahmed says this is a completed type of transit because this means that India will be using to reach another part of her territory through Bangladesh. This issue requires a careful study. He says that an alternative to transition is trans-shipment
