India`s Atomic Energy Commission chairman, Anil Kakodkar suggested that uranium should be imported to feed 40,000 mw of new nuclear power generation capacity by 2020. The fuel waste will be re-processed in two more stages and
that will produce enough fuel for 400,000 mw of nuclear power capacity in 2050. He argued that, that is the only way to meet India`s growing power deficit.
