Mahbub Alam is the former advisor of the erstwhile caretaker government of
Bangladesh and the Chief Editor of the Daily Independent of Dhaka came on a
short visit to Washington DC.
In this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service he spoke about the
leadership change both in US and in Bangladesh and the expectations that the
change , has brought in. He said that Mr Obama’s new approach to Muslim world
will enhance the image of the US, not only in the Muslim Populated countries
but also throughout the world.
He also expressed satisfaction about Bangladesh returning to Democracy and
said that it is too early to comment on the success or failure of the new
government.He added that leaders in
Bangladesh should demonstrate changes in the political culture and he hoped
that eventually Bangladesh will come out as a strong vibrant, democratic,
secular and self-reliant nation.
