A grenade exploded in a police station near Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka, Friday during a news conference, injuring at least 15 people.
Police were displaying seized grenades, other explosives and several suspected militants to journalists when a suspect in handcuffs reportedly tried to denote the grenade. It went off after police grabbed the explosive.
The suspects are believed to be members of the outlawed Islamic extremist group, Jamayetul Mujahideen Bangladesh, accused of carrying out a series of bomb attacks in 2005.
The incident occurred in Gazipur, north of the capital. Police routinely display captured suspects and evidence at news conferences in Bangladesh.
