India Puts Borders on High Alert After Mutiny in Bangladesh


India has declared a red alert and enhanced security along its border with Bangladesh in the wake of a rebellion that in Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) headquarters in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Border Security Force personnel were put on maximum alert along the Indo-Bangladesh border in the Northeast, West Bengal and Bihar.

West Bengal Home Secretary Ardhendu Sen met with Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee and discussed the issue. He said Delhi has asked the BSF to be on high alert along the international border and district magistrates and superintendents of police asked to maintain a state of alertness in bordering districts.
