US Ambassador to Bangladesh James F Moriarty has condemned the violence associated with the protests at the headquarters of the Bangladesh Rifles.
The Ambassador met with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and expressed sympathy to those injured in the violence and condolences to the families of those who have lost (their) loved ones in the violence. He also expressed US support for the newly-elected democratic government of Bangladesh and offered assistance .
Mr. Moriarty also spoke to leader of the opposition Khaleda Zia to convey his appreciation of her party's support to the government at this time.
