Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday said a vested group is still engaged
in conspiracy to destabilize her less than three-month-old government.
"So, the party (AL) and the
government will have to work together," Hasina said in her concluding
remarks at the Awami League central working committee meeting at her Dhanmondi
office.
Quoting Hasina, AL joint general
secretary Obaidul Kader told reporters that the BDR mutineers will be
identified and be punished as "it was a deep-rooted conspiracy."
Hasina who chaired the meeting
urged her party leaders to win the hearts of the people through their good
behavior and work seriously to fulfill the expectations of the people who
reelected them to power.
On power and water crises, the
Prime Minister assured that the government has taken initiatives to resolve
these problems soon.
Kader said the meeting formed a
subcommittee with Sheikh Hasina as chairman and Deputy Leader Syeda Sajeda
Chowdhury as cochairman to update the Awami League constitution and manifesto
in line with the Representation People's Order (RPO) to implement the party's
election pledges and vision 2021.
