Dhaka Medical College Closed for Indefinite Period

Dhaka Medical College was on Tuesday closed for an indefinite period over factional clashes of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the ruling Awami League’s associate body of students, in which one was killed and 25 were injured.
Abul Kalam Asad Rajib, the general secretary of the college unit Chhatra League which has served out its tenure, died in Dhaka Combined Military Hospital in the evening after being shifted there from Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Fourteen of the injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Other students injured were given first-aid treatment.
The college academic council at an emergency meeting in the morning closed the college for an indefinite period to fend off further clashes and deterioration in campus law and order.
