Anti-NATO protesters returned to the French-German border Saturday,
clashing with French police ahead of the alliance's 60th anniversary
summit, which is being held in both countries.
Authorities say 1,800 protesters descended on the summit site in the French city of Strasbourg early Saturday.
Police fired teargas to push back the demonstrators and reported 25 arrests.
The incident followed protests Thursday and Friday in Strasbourg and
the German city of Baden-Baden -- the other summit location.
German and French authorities have deployed 25,000 police to maintain security around the two cities.
Violent protests in Strasbourg Thursday led to the arrests of 300
people and prompted French police to strengthen their cordon around the
city.
