In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service, Pijush Bandyapaddhaya says that the issue on the trial of the war Criminals in Bangladesh has become people’s demand. He says that it is regrettable that till to this the War Criminals of 1971 have not been brought to justice. But as the process for the trial is about to begin, he hopes that the trial will finally be completed. On the issue of the distortions of history, Mr Bandyapaddhaya says that again it was a matter of shame that with the help of the past government history of the War of Liberation of Bangladesh was distorted. He reiterates his hopes that things will be straightened out now when the new government has been elected and has assumed responsibility.
While referring to a historical drama on the life of the founding father of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman where Pijush played the role of the protagonist, he pays his tributes to Bangabandhu and the members of his family, most of whom were killed in a coup on August 15,1975.
