Zainul Abedin Faruq ,MP is the Chief Whip of the opposition members in the the Jatiya Sangsad , the national parliament of the country. He is on a private visit to Florida , USA .
In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service Mr Faruq talks about the present situation in Bangladesh particularly the role of the parliament. Talking about the dissatisfaction of the Upazilla Chairmen on passing a law giving all importance to the Members of Parliament , Faruq says one should give more importance to the coordinated efforts in the development of an area rather than paying too much attention to the law passed in the parliament. He adds that the fact the MPs have been kept as advisors to the Upazilla has been done with an intention to help coordination in the areas concerned.
He says that the different parliamentary committees should play important roles in the sovereign parliament in Bangladesh in line with the government declaration for the change.
