deal signing ceremony between Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and
Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, who is
convicted of graft, and BFF President Kazi Salahuddin signed a Memorandum of
Understanding at Kurmitola Golf Club on April 12.
Moeen, a strong voice against corruption, was bitterly
criticised for standing alongside Akbar Sobhan, who was at large during the
caretaker government and was convicted in his absence. In his resignation
letter, Gen Moeen however said that he was quitting for personal reasons.
