Polling in the 100 square kilometer Maoist-dominated Lalgarh area in Midnapore, West Bengal is being shifted to voting centers outside the area.
The Maoists had imposed 23 conditions to let the police in,for 12 hours on election day. The administration did not agree. So, the compromise is to hold polls outside the area while the 50,000 voters will be brought in by special buses to vote.
