Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee Monday said the Left parties
would join a non-Congress, non-BJP government at the center after the elections
if they could play a 'meaningful role'.
Bhattacharjee told reporters in Meet the Press program in Kolkata if an
alternate government was formed according to a unified agenda , there was a
change in the coutry’s internal, economic and foreign policies then they could
play a meaningful role to achieve those goals . And in situation like that they
could join the government in the center.
He added that his party’s aim was to form an
alternative government , without the two major parties- Congres and Bharatiya
Janata Party(BJP) . He said this was their basic objectives at the moment.
