The State Minister for Foreign Affairs from Bangladesh , Dr Hasan Mahmud is in Washington on a brief visit . On Tuesday he was invited to an interactive discussion over lunch at Washington's The Heritage Foundation . During the lunch discussion he was welcomed by the Director Asia Center Walter Lohman . Amongst those who spoke on the occasion included Senior Research Fellow of the Heritage Foundation, Lisa Curtis, the Representative from US State Department Partha Majumder , Fellow from Hudson Institute Maneeza Rahman and the Ambassador of Bangladesh Humayun Kabir .
After the lunch the meeting , the Minister , in an exclusive interview with VOA , expressed his satisfaction over his discussion with this think tank group . He said that the topics discussed in the interactive session included the priorities of Bangladesh Government , Religious Terrorism, Modernizing Madrassah Education , Relations with neighboring countries , Export Matters and Climate issues . He said that he expects that the US government would help Bangladesh government to fulfill its election pledges in materializing vision 2020. He also said that earlier in the day he had a meeting with Congressman Jim McDermott in order to request him to raise the bill for allowing import of Bangladeshi goods to USA without any tariff.
