The home ministry of Bangladesh on
Monday asked the law enforcement and the intelligence agencies to beef up
security measures with necessary modern equipment in and around all the key
point installations (KPIs) and all the courts including the High Court to avoid
any untoward incident by terrorist groups or militant organizations.
It asked the agencies after
getting a letter from the law ministry, sources in the home ministry said
adding that some intelligence agencies reported to the government that the
militant organizations were organizing to carry out bomb attacks on all the
KPIs and all the courts including the High Court at a time across the country
like the bomb blasts on August 17, 2005.
A report from an intelligence
agency also alerted the authorities concerned for taking highest security
measures in and around the Bangladesh secretariat especially at the Eden
Building (Bhaban-1), where the Prime Minister's office is located.
