A serious fire broke out on Tuesday night at the Telephone Exchange,
resulting in disruptions to at least 70,000 land lines, 12,000 broadband
lines, and over 3000 leased lines. At least 50 remote satellite
exchanges were also affected.
The fire reportedly started from the transmission room on the first
floor and no causalities were reported.
