Bangladesh PM in Egypt for NAM Summit


Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina departed Tuesday for the Egyptian resort city of Sharm al Sheikh to attend the Non Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit. The PM is expected to deliver a speech there on July 16th.

She is expected to meet with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the first time since winning the Bangladeshi elections and may have separate talks with him to discuss the Tipaimukh Dam issue. Sheikh Hasina will also have meetings with Nepalese Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.

Some 60 heads of state and government will be at the summit, and 110 countries will be represented. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon will also make an appearance at the summit.
