Anisul Huq is a renowned playwright and novelist. He started his literary
sojourn as a poet but later on he moved into writing prose pieces including
fictions and plays.
Anisul Huq completed his graduation in Engineering but eventually abandoned Engineering in favor of journalism. In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service, Anisul Huq narrates his story of becoming a writer. He says he enjoys writing.
In an answer to a question, Anisul Huq says that journalism has both been helpful for his creative writings and has also been a kind of impediment to fictional write ups. While elaborating on this he says on one hand his thoughts and ideas have been enriched by his experience in journalism and his broad spectrum of the subject. On the other hand, while writing a creative piece at times he gets bogged down by facts and figures and he has to remind himself that he is a fiction writer and not a journalist.
