Strike Shuts Down India's West Bengal

India's West Bengal was shut down Friday, after Congress Party supporters in the communist-ruled state called a strike to protest recent attacks on Congress Party lawmakers.

The 12-hour strike impacted flights and train service, with protesters blocking roads and railway lines.

Police say they arrested at least 50 protesters Friday, with sporadic clashes reported.

Gautum Gupta has more on the story.
