Awami League are took massive
preparations for their upcoming national council to be held at the Bangabandhu
International Conference Centre on Friday. They are taking precautionary security
measures for this event that will ratify its permanent constitution, along with
the electoral laws amended last year.
This council comes after seven
years with a strong slogan “60 years of struggle and success.” Awami will commemorate its 60 years since it
was founded in 1949.
11,000 councilors and delegates
from around the country will be present and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and other
members of political parties.
The ruling party's Central
Working Committee sat in a last meeting Thursday to finalize its permanent
constitution, declaration paper, the speech of party president Sheikh Hasina
and the day's programs.
The meeting, chaired by party president Sheikh Hasina at her political office,
also approved the party budget for three years and a report from the general
secretary to be placed in the council.
