The Leftists in the Indian State of West Bengal will be organizing a massive rally on August 31 to commemorate 50 years of the food movement that claimed 80 martyrs.
The function is an answer to a similar rally by Trinomool Congress(TMC), the main opposition party.
Leftists hope that despite their defeat in the Lok Sabha Election and their popularity at the ebb, the rally will energize its rank and file.
