Bangladesh Law Minister Says International Community Did Not Pressure Not to Hold 1971 War Crimes Trials

Bangladesh Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed said that the international community did not pressure the government whether to hold trial for crimes committed during the 1971 independence.

The government plans to try Bangladeshis who face charges of committing murders, rapes, arsons and looting and abetting the Pakistani occupation army during the bloody nine-month war.

Amir Khasru has more on the story.
