Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni signed the condolence book opened by US embassy in Dhaka.
She gave rich tributes to late US Senator Edward M Kennedy and recalled his support for emergence of independent Bangladesh in 1971.
Kennedy was an early and vocal supporter of Bangladeshi independence. He visited refugee camps in West Bengal, India during the 1971 war and became one of the first international leaders to visit Bangladesh after liberation.
