An earthquake hit Bangladesh but no casualties were reported. A moderate tremor was felt around 2:52am Friday morning in Dhaka, Sylhet and other places of the country.
The epicentre of the tremor was near Myanmar-India bordering area, approximately 424 kilometers away from Agargaon Seismic Centre in Dhaka.
The Met office recorded the magnitude of the quake at 6.0 on the Richter scale while the US Geological Survey recorded it at 5.9.
