Eid was observed all over Bangladesh with due celebrations and solemnities. Eid prayers were held all over the country.
President Zillur Rahman joined the Eid prayer at National Eidgah. President Zillur Rahman , Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Opposition Leader Khaleda Zia gave messages of Eid felicitations to the members of the public.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday exchanged greetings
with foreign diplomats, professionals and members of the public at Gana Bhaban
on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Hasina, also Awami League president, met with party leaders and activists,
cabinet members and MPs at around 10am.
She exchanged pleasantries with the public for a short time and then met with
foreign ambassadors and high commissioners.
The prime minister also met with scores of waiting people from a broader social
spectrum who had gathered there defying heavy rains.
Besides Khaleda Zia, the Leader of the Opposition also welcomed guests and dignitaries.
