Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Speaks to VOA About UNGA Session-Part 1 & 2


Bangladesh Prime Minister was in New York and participated in the 64th session of the UNGA.

She addressed the plenary session of the General Assembly on 26th September and had meetings with world leaders including President Obama. She spoke on the Climate Change Summit at the UN and also talked about the meeting of the leaders of 25 nations with Secretary General Ban Ki Moon on the problem related to climate change.

President Obama invited the Bangladesh leader at a meeting of the leaders of 10 nations which participate in the UN peace keeping force in different parts of the world.

In this exclusive interview, Sheikh Hasina talked about this meeting, US-Bangladesh relations, Bangladesh-India relations and various contentious issues in domestic politics in Bangladesh. She also spoke on her meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Bangladesh Prime Minister spoke on US-India relations and her upcoming visit to India. She also discussed about various problems including power shortage, increase in the price of essential commodities, terror activities, traffic jam and other issues. She said her administration is trying to resolve all these problems which her government inherited from the previous administrations.
