anniversary of the American Association of Bangladeshi Engineers’ and
Architects was observed at University of Maryland at Shady Grove. On the
occasion of the Silver Jubilee celebration of AABEA , the Association not only
arranged traditional cultural programs and a sumptuous dinner but they also
held seminars on different very useful topics where papers were presented by
Engineers and Architects in their respective fields . A panel of experts
participated in lively and vibrant discussions. The topics of discussion ranged
from Energy Crisis in Bangladesh to Tipai Mukh Dam debates where the experts
discussed the issues from purely objective and technological points of views .
Faisal Quader, the
President of the Washington DC Chapter of AABEA informed VOA that they have
plans to prepare papers and recommendations based on these academic
interactions and send them to the Government of Bangladesh. This brief
conference also presented the younger generation to look for appropriate job in
a Federal Job Fair organized on the premises.
This program proved
that the Bangladeshi Diaspora do not only indulge in Desi food and culture but
more importantly they are deeply
concerned with the problems in Bangladesh and are eager to help resolve those
through a very pragmatic approach .
