Delaney said the American government is very sincere about granting Bangladesh's
major exportable products duty-and quota-free market access as per the WTO Hong
Kong declaration.
"The demand for Bangladeshi products'' quota-free and
duty-free market access to the US market is very reasonable", the American
trade representative said during his meeting with Commerce Minister Faruk Khan
at his ministry Monday.
Faruk Khan sought cooperation of the US trade representative in attaining the
long-sought-after market access for garments as the country''s main export
sector has been seriously affected by the global economic recession and climate
change.

About the much-talked-about TIFA (Trade and Investment Framework Agreement)
deal, the minister said the government would take necessary steps to sign the
treaty.
During the meeting, Michael Delaney expressed his satisfaction over various
development issues in Bangladesh.
He also assured that the US government is ready to give all-out support about
the demand of Bangladesh
