Dr Anindyo Majumder, Professor of International Relations, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, is a recognized expert on South Asia region and a researcher and writer. In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service he said that the current situation in Pakistan is very precarious.
The extremist and terrorist forces that once Pakistan heavily patronized to fulfill her own national regional interests, have now become very powerful and are getting out of control of Pakistan. He believes that now the Talebans and Al Qaida have become a challenge to the very existence of Pakistan. He said that Pakistan is now fighting a very serious battle with the extremist forces.
He thinks that it will be
unwise to think that this war against the terrorists will soon end,
rather it will continue. Dr. Majumder believes that this war against
terrorism is not the war of one, two or three nations, it needs a
coordinated action by all the nations, UN and other international
bodies. Terrorism has posed a serious threat to the humankind.
