India’s Atomic Energy Commission chairman, Kakodkar has ruled out going ahead with its 6000 mw nuclear power plant project at Bengal`s Haripur if local people are opposed to it.
He felt, development process needs to be inclusive and should take into consideration local people’s views.
They would rather shift the project out of Bengal rather than forcing it on the uninterested population.
