Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's scheduled visit to
India-which was earlier slated to begin on December 19-has now been deferred to
January next year upon request from New Delhi.
'We are going to reschedule the prime minister's visit. It
would now take place sometime in the second week of January,' foreign minister
Dipu Moni said at a press briefing in Dhaka on Monday.
She said the visit is being deferred upon request from the
host country.
The foreign minister hinted the new itinerary for the visit
is likely to be set for the second week, probably 10th or 11th of January.
Dipu Moni said the prime ministers of Bangladesh and India,
Sheikh Hasina and Manmohan Singh, will be in Copenhagen on December 18 to
participate the global conference on climate change which will also be attended
by other world leaders including US President Barack
Obama.
She said sharing of the water of the common rivers, regional connectivity, bilateral trade, sharing electricity, the issues of un-possessed lands and security will be top on agenda at the much-vaunted summit of the two neighbors.
