About the schedule of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to India, foreign secretary said, it would
likely to take place on January 11 though the Indian side was yet to confirm
the schedule.
However he said that in the ensuing visit prime minister's previous program
would be replaced by new dates.
Hasina's visit was scheduled on December 19 but it was deferred due to the
participation of prime ministers of both the countries in Copenhagen climate
summit.
Foreign Secretary said Bangladesh
expects progress in the long running issue of sharing waters of the Teesta
River during prime minister's visit to New Delhi. He also said, Dhaka sought a
date from Delhi to hold ministerial-level Joint Rivers Commission (JRC) meeting
before the PM's visit but Indian side had not yet responded.
