Ketaki Kushari Dyson Speaks to VOA Bangla

Ketaki Kushari Dysonthinksthat a diversity of genres and a vigorous bi-culturalism and bilingualism are her hallmarks as a writer, and it is her aim to maintain this quality to the best of her ability. She does not only write and publish in two languages, Bengali and English, but also in several genres encompassing the creative and research-based modes.

Despite her stay in England she has never severed her links with the literary life of her native Bengal and has been functioning as a writer of the Indian Diaspora since the sixties, writing and publishing extensively in Bengali magazines before she had anything out in book-form.

She is a writer of the Bengali Diaspora who is claimed by the Indian-Bengali mainstream and is also read widely in Bangladesh and wherever there are Bengali-speaking communities in the world. She writes Poetry, essays, and research-based books in both languages and she translates happily between the two languages, in both directions. She also got several awards for her writings. In this interview with VOA Bangla Ketaki Kushari Dyson talks about her literary works.
