The third Bangladesh International Environment conference opened on Sunday in Dhaka. Bangladeshi experts on environment and Bangladeshis living abroad, SAARC countries representatives and delegates from number of international organizations dealing with worlds climate issues are participating in the conferenence.
Prime Minister of Bangladesh Shaikh Hasina inaugurated the conference on Sunday. The leader of main opposition party in Bangladesh Begum Khaleda Zia will address the conference on Monday. The conference is jointly sponsored by Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon 'BAPA' ( BANGLADESH ENVIRONMENT CAMPAIGN ) & Bangladesh Environment Network 'BEN'.
The general secretary of BEN, Dr. Mohammad Abdul Matin in an interview with VOA, spoke about the various aspects of the conference in the light of just concluded Copenhagen climate conference.
